“CIVIL RIGHTS”

This past December a lesbian couple sued the owners of “Sweet Cakes”- a small Oregon Bakery just outside Portland, for $136K for saying they didn’t want to cater their party due to religious beliefs. And of course there are absolutely no other bakeries anywhere in the entire Portland Metro area whatsoever, so the couple had no choice but to sue the “bee-Jesus” out of them so their feelings would no longer hurt, as well as so they could open their bakery called “Sweet Tits”. According to inside sources, “Sweet Tits” will be open for business this summer and will provide wedding cakes for same-sex couples. However, they will not be servicing straight Christian couples because it is against their beliefs

“DIVERSIFY PDX”

Portland, Oregon is the “whitest” major city in the U.S.- and that’s just the most awful thing in the world. It really sucks walking around and seeing people that remind you of yourself when you hate yourself. We need need more diversity because everybody knows that more diversity equals better food carts!  Diversity now!

“WHITE PRIVILEGE”

This “White Privilege” phrase that has spread like a virus around American college campuses as of late was originally coined by a Wellesley College professor named Peggy McIntosh in her essay “White Privilege and Male Privilege: A Personal Account of Coming to See Correspondences Through Work in Women’s Studies”. For those not familiar, Wellesley College is a beacon of educational equality that only allows females to be admitted.

Miss Peggy is an American feminist and anti-racism activist, the associate director of the Wellesley Centers for Women, and a speaker and the founder and co-director of the National S.E.E.D. Project on Inclusive Curriculum. S.E.E.D. stands for Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity, i.e. giving opportunities to anyone but white males, regardless of qualification or merit. In her essay Peggy describes “White Privilege” as an “invisible knapsack of unearned privileges…” I wonder what this “invisible” (i.e. non-existent) knapsack might contain???
